The first few sips come on pretty heavy with fruits and spices and a slight burn down the throat, but it mellows out into a pretty tasty everyday wine. It's a lot like Naveen and Tiana's relationship in the Princess and the Frog. At first they're bitter towards each other for not exactly being what each other wants but eventually grow to appreciate each other, realizing their needs are met. — 9 years ago

It's got a bit of a smooth chalky-ness with subtle berries and a brief burn down the throat. I'd imagine it's something Lawrence from Princess and the Frog would drink if Naveen let him. Maybe with some of those minced mushrooms? — 10 years ago

This Malbec comes on a little heavy and puts my head into a pleasant fog. However, it wasn't enough to cloud my judgment on the Fenner's subtle racism in the Princess and the Frog. "A woman of your background"? I know exactly what you're talking about even with my heavy wine head, you cartoon racist. Luckily Tiana gets the last laugh, just as I will with tonight's wine. Delicious! — 10 years ago

The first sip is cool to the palette with a jammy wave hitting right after. Tannins tend to stick around and linger a bit - quite like Ray in the Princess and the Frog. Like Ray, this wine introduces a fun quality to my night, so whatever keeps us both happy is worth it. Don't tell child support services... — 10 years ago

Soft and medium-bodied with a nice punch of cherry. Not too much on the back end. Sort of like Dr Facilier's voodoo in the Princess and the Frog. At first, you expect what you wished for. Then POOF! You're a frog. But being a frog's not all that bad in the end. The Colby Red drinks a lot like that. Really...it can be appreciated after a few glasses, as long as my daughter is transfixed by Princess and the Frog. — 10 years ago

Wow! What a treat! Not only did I get to enjoy this smooth Syrah, but I got one night away from the Princess and the Frog. — 10 years ago

Smooth, medium-body with subtle spice on the back end. I'll end up drinking the whole bottle by myself while my daughter watches the Princess and the Frog for the 30th time. I imagine this wine goes really well with the gumbo mama odie cooks in that bathtub. If not, it, at least, makes parenting a little easier. — 10 years ago
