I was walking through one of my local wine shops and saw this bottle of wine with a bottle cap on it. I had seen in articles that this was a thing now and I had to see what this was. A Zweigelt from Austria and I had to try this, plus it had this bottle cap. I heard of Zweigelt and knew it is a cross between the St. Laurent and Blaufrankisch grapes so I just had to get this and it is a 1 Liter bottle to boot.

The nose reveals cherry, red raspberry, mint, dusty earthy floral notes and a minerality.

On the palate there is sour cherries, strawberry, kirsch, red currant, a floral aspect, an earthy component and mineral notes.

The wine is medium to light in body with medium acidity and medium smooth tannins that lead to a medium fresh prolonged finish. This is an easy drinker that can be drank alone or with food. Have a great finish to your week and start of a wonderful weekend. Please take care and be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷

Sour mid palate is throwing this off for me. I like it's racy and zippy effervescent though.

Fresh peppery #zweigelt, worthy companion to a fine BLT @sewinecollective. This light, spicy red from #austria is a cross between #blaufränkisch & #stlaurent developed in 1922 by Austrian horticulturalist Fritz Zweigelt.

Earthy and dense on the nose, lean on the palate. Drop a chill on this and put it in my face all summer long

Agree with zippy and crisp! Great price point and very dry. Chanticleer gardens with the Scots!

Dry as a bone rosé, nice effervescence to it. Bits of salt, strawberry, and hay.

Bright flash of acidity. Underripe apple. Lacked the dimension I hoped for but nonetheless a great wine

Wasn't expecting so sour, but I'm into it. Earthy, beet notes.

Crisp, tang and light. Perfect with a burnt chip of eggplant!
