Karasi Areni Noir

What stories do ancient mountains and their caves tell? Stories of beginnings. It’s hard not to be inspired drinking one of the world’s most ancient grape varieties made in one of the places that winemaking began. And when made with such grace, so much the better. Blackberry and licorice, plum and a touch of dark earth, with lingering notes of candied fennel seeds in the finish. Gorgeous acidity and a finely textured skein of tannins. Armenia’s going through a hard time right now. I salute the resilience of her people.

Surprised in its quality. Rich red fruits. Balanced

So unique and so interesting. Another great vintage of this Wonderful wine. Earthy aromas and flavors along with Blackberry, plum and licorice. Intense herbal and purple flower notes. Medium ruby color, light body and smooth tannins. A unique, historical and lovely wine. Revisited in May 2023. Aging beautifully!

Nose was nice on opening the bottle. Light medium body. Interesting spiciness. Good acid.

We had a 2017 vintage. My wife enjoys lighter reds with some brightness, and I tend towards very earthy reds. This wine seemed to strike the perfect balance between the two. Will definitely buy again!

Ripe Cherries with a little spice. Quite light but pleasant. A little like sangiovese?

Jammy and bold berry flavors. Lighter body, which is surprising based on how bold the flavors are.

A little fruity, a little spicy, super interesting.
