What a nose. Singing! Huge red cherry fruit. So perfumed. Floral. A hint of earth and some mesmerizing spice. A nose one can smell over and over and over. It’s just insane. Juicy and complex with stunning acidity and freshness and a lacey, lean, silken structure. So elegant and such fine fine tannins. Amazingly long finish with awesome acidity and brilliant balance. Just a stunning, stunning wine. Such sweetness and sappiness all at the same time. Amazingly pure. While very good now this has a bright future.

Ridiculously well made. Crystalline and transparent, yet dense. Wafting aroma, pink peppercorn. Stony red fruit.

So this wine came around big time!!! So the rating has changed. A great Pinot. Like a Premier Cru from Gevrey for much less $$$. Dark fruit. Forest floor touch of spice just barely ripe blackberry cherry hint of cardamom. Congratulations to Lyle the importer. Needs plenty of air but then really shines.

Ziereisen is very well known in Germany. He owns slopes of the black forest close to France and Switzerland which in this area contain limestone. Herbaceous and quite elegant and light. Fruit hard to pin down perhaps blackberry and other dark fruit. Touch black tea. Overall ok but no match for other Germans like Enderle & Moll, Gold or Eller. Quite smokey upon opening.
