Smells tight! But oh so promising. Nose is herbal, spicey and has some early season cherry skins. A hint of early season cherry flesh but this will need many hours to unwind. Some breadth develops with air and the cherries become more clear. Palate is tight but my goodness it is all there. So linear, focused and delineated. Amazing sappines and such finesse. So juicy and fresh. Still a zygote but this will develop over next few days and hours. So brilliant and only showing 10% of what it is. I will be back. Wow now with air it’s soaring. Herbal, spicey, mineral and mid season cherries. So brilliant. Palate is so nimble, pure, sappy and fresh. Crunchy, red-fruited and with elegant dusty tannins. Bright bing cherry on the nose now. Soaring. So fresh and energetic. Still needs mega air after 3 hours for fruit to became more defined.
After a day this is crazy good. Nose is white chocolate and cherries. So detailed. Herbal and mineral. Palate is silly, rich and energetic. Sappy and so dense yet all silk.

Palate is so juicy and clean with top flight finesse and wonderfully silky and delicate tannins. So pure and sappy. Floats on the palate and has all the finesse. Superb concentration and tiny berry fruit explosiveness but just dripping with limestone minerality. Gorgeous wine but let’s see where air takes it. With air this has gotten tangy and super complex. Amazing lightness of touch and freshness. Now a 9.6.

Deep and aromatic, red cherries mesmerizing, spice. so much depth. So much details. Wow wonderful sweetness and tannins. chewy and complex. Looong and red fruited. Tiny berry fruit intensity. Gorgeous structure and ripe tannins.

This is an awesome vintage for this wine. Magical nose. Just stunning. Deep red cherry fruit. A lipstick like and kirsch intensity. You can tell it was warm. But also it’s cool climate warmth though. Spice, some sweet wood, all integrated and harmonious. Just a beautiful young Jaspis. Rich, fleshy and concentrated but impeccably balanced and so delicate and fresh. This has rich wine character but also all the trappings of what makes Ziereisen Pinot so good. It’s elegant, the fruit is so pretty and intense, there’s lithe and serious structure with the finest and sweetest tannins one can imagine. This is when Godard started making color films. Same Godard but in color! This is same old Ziereisen but in 2018! As it airs a stunning floral aroma develops. The nose is magic.
