Incredible drinking experience. My first Amarone. Smooth and pruney. Excellent with food (several types of pasta and sauces) and alone.

Not as full bodied as I would have expected, even after a couple of hours of decanting.

Smells of earth and mushroom; light tannins; light body ; subtle earthy flavor; not as flavorful as hoped

Good amarone that is not too expensive. This was 2010. Nice peppery finish. Great value Amarone

No real notes. Slightly cooked and oxydized unfortunately. Interestingly enough though, the palate shows such acid drive and tannins that it is actually standing the test of oxydization just fine. The raisins, chocolate and pruney notes are nowhere to be smelled, but there's some strong, vivid life in the palate.

Blend of Corvina (60%), Rondinella (30%) and Molinara (10%). Deep ruby color with a garnet tinge. The nose and texture are quite “Pinot Noir-like” with aromas of earth, spices and herbs. The palate is ripe red cherry/berry focused with hints of cocoa, baking spices and fresh herbs. Touch of pepper on the finish. Fresh tasting and vibrant. Velvety tannins. Pretty restrained for an Amorone.

On the nose, red plum, sage, eucalyptus, and smoky salami... On the palate, deep, concentrated, dark fruit along with a tannic tongue dryness culminating in a long, chewy finish... With food, this explodes in new directions... We paired this with our first course of meatball in a clean tomato sauce with amazing effect... The acidity of the tomato made this wine pop!
