Dark ruby. Inviting nose and medium full palate of tart cherry, black cranberry, and tarry marzipan (tarzipan?). Medium plus acidity supports it. Medium tannins envelope it. Finish is moderately long and continues the palate. This apassimento (not ripasso) red is an excellent accompaniment to classic tomato-based Italian fare, but will also complement a wide range of "red wine" foods from pork loin to New York strip. Drink now through 2027.

The easiest way to describe this wine is baby amarone. It is a dark wine but more like a Pinot than merlo or cab. Old world fruit with an earthy finish. Great wine for under $20

A solid player for the weeknight, budget sipper, with great vintage pedigree to boot!

Appassimento style, dry cherry, leather, coffee, yum. Wow at $18

Tastes hotter than it is at 13.5. Old world style. Dark cherry and hearty oak.

Dried leaves and kirsch make up this nose.

Dried prunes amd cherries, roasted fig, and - hint of kalamata olive. Medium bodied with low acidity and sprinkled tannins.
Good wine house, never disappointed.

A decidedly lower key night, after some extensive tasting yesterday.

Nose has cherry syrup, dried cherry, cut red pepper and moist Costa Rican coffee grounds.
Palate has dried cherry, ripe sweet cherry, plum skin, moist prune and old, forgotten loose tobacco.

This bottle is still young, guessing it'll still be drinking great at its 10th birthday, but likely never last that long in this household.

Good, not great. Many better veronese wines out there, but $15 price point marked down to $12, you'd be hard pressed to find one.
