Les Candives Vin de Pays des Collines Rhodaniennes Syrah

Pure Syrah- and a beautiful expression of the varietal. And while I wish to go much deeper into why this moderately-priced beauty from Yves Cuilleron à Chavanay from specifically chosen vineyards from the northern Rhone- I keep getting CUT OFF BY DELECTABLE IN TRYING TO DO SO. #HELLO

Totally flavour-ripe at 12.5%, loaded with spice and black fruit.

I'm impressed at how well this is drinking right now. Violets and a kiss of garrigue. All that is pleasurable about Syrah.

Picked by the Sommelier at Aureole tonight. What gem!?! Super tight off the bat, decantered and appreciated over an hour and a half. Full, stony massive wine with a mild spiciness on the very tip of the long finish. Great pick.

Man, these 2011 Cuilleron wines are even better than the 2010's (which were my favorite vintages of Yves yet)

This is really good! Grilled bacon, tomato tapenade, charcoal. Ripe black fruit. Punches well above it’s weight.

#Shawnwines 8 one of my favs of the case. Leathery, soft, grassy never tasted Syrah like this.

Good value Syrah. Drinking well now.
