Can I dub this wine super yumtown? Sometimes I run out of good adjectives. This is a wine that makes me understand why some call Grenache the Pinot noir of the south. A fine and silky red rendition. Less ripe than last night’s cannonau it’s all red fruit (fresh and stewed) and white pepper and the leather and herbal earth come in later and lighter. I really like this. It stands without food.

Pork belly and Grenache, say no more!

This #sample bottle of Yalumba 2016 Old Bush Vine Grenache is part of the @wineselectors Family Favourites @affwine case. This case of wine celebrates Australia’s First Families of Wine and their favourite recipes. Yum!

In the glass this Grenache is a light ruby red hue. It’s very aromatic with red fruits, spice and leather notes coming through. While in the mouth it’s light-medium bodied with good acidity and conjures up thoughts of cherry jam on toast for me!

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!

2016 Old Bush Vine Grenache- bright fruits and spice, rich yet savory palate. Elegance, tight structure and tremendous length. Subtle oak.

Love this one! It’s red fruit plus earth equaling a complex Grenache!
