#AgedWineTuesday

Ruby in color with a wide red rim.

Nose of blueberries, plums, light wood, spices, coffee, nail polish remover, tobacco, earth, light wet leaves, herbs and peppercorn.

Medium plus in body and elegant, with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with plums, cherries, light wood, earth, vinaigrette, tobacco, bitter herbs, spices, vegetables, dark coffee and black pepper.

Spicy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a very tasty and nicely aged Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Elegant and smooth.

Good by itself or with food and a little stinky on the nose. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel.

Needs a couple of hours to open up properly and show the complexity.

Thank you Scott for sharing.

Great all by itself. Yummy and interesting.

This unique wine was held in oak barrels until 2010, at which point it was blended. Bottled only in 2019.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

$100.

Layer upon layers! Berries, cedar, black pepper, herbs. Tight for its age but beautifully constructed!

May 28, 2021. Happy birthday wine from C. So glad to share it with her, j2, and Jack D on my day! Wow. So good. 🤩 Ditto what Tom and Brenda said in their review — saved me a lot of thumb typing. 😂

2001 Xavier Vignon CDP, Cuvee Ange
What a nose—Smokey-bacon, earthie, and cherry-vanilla. A beautiful, elegant and luscious taste—unique cherry plum, orange peel with some spice and chocolate. A very interesting game like dry, raspberry—vanilla long finish.

From the wonderful 01 vintage. A unique bottling from Xavier Vignon...aged in barrels submerged in wine, blended 2010, and bottled in 2019.

1 hour decant(little sediment). A captivating young looking ruby red color. On the nose: spicy, smokey, plums, bacon, earthy, cherry vanilla. Taste: WOW, so fresh and elegant...very smooth, juicy, medium plus body wine with spicy black cherry, leather, game, orange peel, and a raspberry vanilla dry long finish.
