Xavier Monnot
Les Charmes Meursault 1er Cru Chardonnay
Pale lemon yellow with an inviting nose of pineapple, lemon, and struck match. Crisp but well-balanced acidity, medium minerality (I expected more) and a long, elegant finish

Dec 28th, 2018Wow don’t think I’ve had this producer before - nice hazelnut lemon drop spice and minerality slight butterscotch nice acidity and medium bodied 2014 vintage - for me this wine speaks of where it’s from

Oct 21st, 2017One of those white Burgundies that makes you question the logic of the crowd. Why is no one drinking Monnot? It's imported by the same guy who brings in Jamet. Powerful, intense, pure and showing plenty of pedigree, potential, and freshness tonight.

Nov 6th, 2015A bit tight on the nose but some serious body/structure/palate weight.

Aug 23rd, 2015Need to drink more of this. Chardonnay from Les Charmes, one of Meursault’s most famous Premier Cru vineyards. Beautiful nose with aromas of white flowers, lemon custard and chalk. Hints of hazelnuts. Medium to full bodied, quite rich, textured, mineral, chalky, slightly saline finish
