Had concerns about the fill on this one. Turned out to be a leaker and compromised. Disappointing, as the back label note indicated it included grapes from the famous La Questa Vineyard planted by Emmett Rixford in the 1880’s. Lucky to have a 1980 to replace it. Flawed due to leakage/oxidation.

Dec 19th, 2018Aged Cab flight- replacement for the flawed 1979. Fill into the neck, although the cork was pretty fragile. Still dark and good life in it. The Gemello and Woodside were nice historical references for Santa Clara Valley and northern Santa Cruz Mountain AVA wines.

An hour after decanting this one really comes into its own. Nice balance. Not overly oaked. Very nice for $25.
