This was a miss for me. Not only was it of a grape I do not typically care for in a starring role, the overwhelming impression it left was of “doctor’s office” - rubber/latex in the background with cough syrup-like fruit, bitter and astringent finish.

Ok this was my first go at a New York State Cabernet Franc and to be honest, I was pleasantly surprised. It had a soft earthy nose. Nicely layered semi-ripe red fruit - well balanced and I shockingly went for a second pour. Hello NY Cab Franc!!

Tart cranberry, dried plum (prune!), but mostly really savory. Oak in the house! Nice balance.
