Winzerhof Thörle
Spätburgunder
Rheinhessen, Germany
Ripe red fruits & medium bodied, enough grip & savory secondary notes- alpine forest floor?- to make this a satisfying mid week bottle.

Insane nose for a basic wine. Unreal cherry. So intense and jumps out of the glass. This nose is a 9.5. Just crazy. Palate is full of fruit. Fantastic freshness. Juicy and meaty. Unreal cherry.

Last drank 4 mo ago; aromas on this bottle are more intense than my previous notes. Lots of sappy red fruit, dark rose, and a lot of violets. Palate also sappy, with tart acid. Really a fantastic value at around 20 USD. Bought a case; will go well with Thanksgiving dinner.

Excellent value. Nice cherry nose, with herbal character and wet leaves. Palate with generous acidity, more deep cherry fruit, hint licorice. For the price, it has great presence, could age in the medium term given the acidity.
