Schlossberg Riesling

Day 2 notes. Mineral and tropical nose. Sea salt and an airiness. So elegant. Juicy palate with razor sharp acidity and a wonderful opulence in the mid palate. Awesome purely. Like a Riesling drop (riffing off of gum drop.) Long. Just wonderful. Flavors of pink grapefruit, peach and apricot. So clear.

@Delectable Wine this is Schlossberg Riesling. It’s in here but not showing up. Huge scene. Juicy and complex. Lemony. elegant and so pure. Intense extract and so pure. Long, salty and pure. Wow. 9.66669. Almost a 9.7. The length is exceptional. Wow. Salty. Saline. This really might be a 9.7. Saltiest wine ever at Thorle. Wine tickles your palate.

Showing beautiful development with terrific aromas. Lemon cake, lemon sorbet, flowers, huge minerals, elegant minerals. Citrus and honey. Wonderful and complex and signs of early maturity. Awesome. Palate has terrific raw mineral power and density but lacks the elite finesse of the 2020. High acid palate with lemon, early green apple and good sap and strength.

This sleeper GC in the Thorle lineup. Nose is a bit quiet today. Meyer lemon, minerals, salinity, so airy. Has much more to show aroma wise with air. Some pink grapefruit now. Gorgeous. Gaining aromatic depth by the minute. Wow, best young Schlossberg ever. It finally broke through to 9.5 territory. The finesse is what puts it over the top. So complete. Of course it’s mineral as all can be as is is Schlossberg but it’s so refined and long. Energetic and so sappy. This is wonderful. Concentrated and dense but so light on its feet. What a finish. Great structure suggests aging for a while. Maybe 10-15 years. Really, long, delineated finish. Superb. Nose is rocking now after 30 mins. Stunning spice and herbals. Wow that texture. This is stunning! 9.5 to 9.6.

The mineral bomb from Thorle and it does not disappoint. Massively mineral nose. Like a spice bazaar perfume mixed in with mega limestone. Hugely expansive and just gorgeous. The mineral is such a nice perfume. Crunchy, elegant and deep. But also slightly closed. Insane minerality and freshness. So pure. I think right now there is zero fruit on the palate and my score goes up .5 because of that. Just a stunner. The level of crystalline purity on the palate is just stunning. It cleanses the palate. Excellent acidity but the freshness of this wine is what truly stands out. The geekiest Thorle. Just insane. Nose starting to get herbal and groovy. What a vintage 19 is. Buy it all. Man does this slap. Leaves a ridiculous mineral impression on your tongue. Like a mineral fossil. Cusp of 9.4/9.5.

Bern 1.5 years since my last bottle and this has really improved in that relatively short period of time. Confectionary and expansive nose. Pineapple, lime zest, lime flowers, citrus and a bed of thick minerality supporting it all. Beautiful Meyer lemon. Just terrific aromas. Palate is mineral and incisive as ever. Literally no fruit to start with luscious mouthwatering minerality throughout. Chewy and tense. Great mineral grip. Long finish. Very serious and no rush at all. For rock heads only as it ages. Fruit recedes. I love it but others might not.

Superb nose. So so expressive. Iced lemon sherbert, limestone, airiness, iodine. Very perfumed. Palate is elegant with huge acids and such delicacy. Very mineral. Some stone fruits but much more about minerals than anything. Complex and very concentrated with dazzling purity and freshness. This is showing out of its mind.

Only Riesling from this GC site and no Pinot Noir. Nose is slamming. Super mineral and lemon and lime rock candy. Incredible mineralIty. So clean. Like smelling vapor. Amazing. Huge acid and mineral with an awesome texture. Sappy and deep with lemon and lime rock candy sweet tart fruit. This is a Riesling geek’s dream. Superb wine and will age wonderfully. Intense stuff.

Last had this almost a year to the day. Gorgeously mineral and deep nose. So elegant. Pineapple, apple, sweet Meyer lemon, super mineral. Gorgeous perfume. Palate is round and so deep with wonderful almost spherical mouthfeel. Lovely lemony and melony finish with a bit of opulence and palate staining minerality. Outrageous. Fleshy fruit on the mid palate and terrific concentration. Drinking well but has 10 more years ahead of it.
