A surprisingly restrained, well-integrated wine that wasn’t overwhelmed by overripe fruit (like I was expecting). Moderate alcohol at 13% helped this retain balance. Dried figs and cherries, prune. A pleasant delight.

More refined that I expected but that’s maybe due to its age. Judicious use of oak, which I appreciate. 🌳

Ancient varietal native to what is now Bosnia. Dark ruby color with a slight garnet rim. Aromas of dark fruit, vanilla, violets and charred wood. Big flavors of black berry/currant/raspberry/plum with a touch of roasted nuts. Notes of minerals and rose petals on the long finish. Nicely balanced. Aging well. Thanks for sharing, Ron B!
