Beckstoffer Vineyard Georges III – Napa Valley – USA 🇺🇸
Overview
A crème-de-la-crème expression from the legendary Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard, one of the crown jewels of Napa Valley’s historical vineyard sites. This 2022 Cabernet showcases structure, purity, and intensity even in its youth. Williams Selyem applies their signature finesse to a site known for power and depth, resulting in a Cabernet that is both commanding and exquisitely refined.
Aromas & Flavors
Graphite, blackberry, blackcurrant, and dark plum form the core, lifted by notes of violet, cocoa powder, pencil shavings, and a touch of vanilla bean. There’s an underlying savory-mineral streak that defines Georges III’s signature expression.
Mouthfeel
Luscious yet incredibly polished. Velvety tannins glide across the palate, supported by concentrated dark fruit and vibrant acidity. Full-bodied but never heavy, finishing long, layered, and impeccably balanced.
Food Pairings
Bone-in ribeye, braised short ribs, grilled portobello mushrooms, or truffle-seasoned steak. Perfect for richly seasoned or charred dishes.
Verdict
A show-stopping Cabernet, youthful but already delivering remarkable depth, purity, and textural elegance. A standout addition to the Williams Selyem Napa series and a bottle that promises a long, beautiful evolution in the cellar.

They say it is a Cab for Pinot lovers but I'm not seeing it. Not worth the price

Another gem that we were able to taste at WS this past weekend. My first WS Cab. I called it a Pinot lovers Cab. I enjoyed it enough to bring one home for future enjoyment. Notes from winemaker describe this as a “classically stoked Cab from the historic Rutherford property. Fresh currants with highlights of red fruit.” It also offers undertones of mountain fruit.
