Williams Selyem – Cabernet Sauvignon – 2021
Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard – Napa Valley – USA 🇺🇸

Overview
A true gem from the historic Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard, one of Napa Valley’s most coveted heritage sites. Located at the narrowest point of the valley floor near Yountville, this site benefits from slightly cooler temperatures, lending freshness, lift, and remarkable balance to the powerful 2021 vintage. Williams Selyem, known for finesse-driven winemaking, brings an elegant touch to a vineyard famed for depth and intensity.

Aromas & Flavors
Blackcurrant, blackberry, and plum layered with graphite, cassis, tobacco leaf, and dark cocoa. Subtle notes of cedar, violets, and warm spice add dimension. Deep, expressive, and aromatically precise.

Mouthfeel
Powerful yet polished. Full-bodied with super-silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, structured finish. Dense fruit concentration meets freshness, a hallmark of Missouri Hopper. Approachable now but built for graceful aging.

Food Pairings
Ribeye, lamb chops, grilled portobello mushrooms, roasted short ribs, or aged cheddar.

Verdict
An exceptional Cabernet that stands out even among other Missouri Hopper bottlings. Intensely flavorful, deeply structured, and beautifully refined, the kind of wine that will reward patience but already delivers immense pleasure. A truly special addition to the cellar.

Did You Know?
Missouri Hopper is one of Napa’s original “first-growth” sites, planted in the late 1800s and now part of Beckstoffer’s heritage vineyard program. Its location along the Yountville corridor creates a cooler pocket on the valley floor, resulting in Cabernet with remarkable balance, aromatic lift, and longevity.

🍷 Personal Pick Highlight
I’ve tasted several vintages of Missouri Hopper from different producers, but this Williams Selyem expression stands out for its finesse and purity. Thrilled to have this beauty aging in the cellar.
