Not as light and elegant as many from RRV, this Pinot is in your face strawberry jam. There is some earthy funk, cherry cola, and just a hint of spice. The fruit is clean, crushed and lasting. Plenty of barrel tannin, but lacks the necessary acid. The nose really outshines the palate here.

Surprisingly aggressive and tannic for Oregon Pinot. I know where they're trying to go. Don't think they'll produce an American gevrey but it's a good and pleasantly surprising bottle. A little expensive maybe. Signature Burgundian dark berries and bramble, a goodly dose of earth, a lite cocoa, and some heather in the background.
