I prefer this to the Pence Ranch #staritahills#chardonnay The latter seaming riper, sweeter with popcorn aromas. This #santamaria seems like higher acidity yet still has buttery autolytic notes

Now THIS is Cali Chardonnay that I would drink on the regular. I dig the balance between textured fruit, fresh acidity, and an underlying herbal tone, and without overt oak. My first Whitcraft wine, well done!

Took a minute for the weight of this wine to fall into place and for it’s sum to become greater than it’s parts, but once it does, woo boy! Killer acid, orchard fruit, citrus and stone. Fresh, floral, flinty. Finished with more weight than it started with, this is like burgundy that could only have come from California. Dunno why I waited so long to try Whitcraft (it’s the label...)
