Leflaive was cooked and this came to the rescue. Absolutely outstanding. Best new world chardonnay I've tasted for sure. As close as it gets to burgundy, I would definitely think it's some fancy Gand Cru Montrachet, with all its buttery, fruitful, fresh and delicious aromas. It's powerful, full, bright. It smells like a hot just out of the oven baguette, that was broken open and cold normandy butter was put in the middle of the fresh baked goodness. I absolutely in love with this wine and this winery—amazing people make amazing wine. It doesn't get better than this, does it?

Bright yellow. Started off a bit tight. Came around after an hour. The acid and fruit are well balanced. Lemon, slightly underripe orchard fruit and toast. Good, but not excellent for me

Raising a glass to the legacy and memory of Prince tonight. Hopefully he's playing some music with David Bowie and PhifeDawg in a better place right now... This wine is fantastic & I'd share it with all three of those gentlemen if I could.

Lovely bottle of Chardonnay. Pronounced honeyed richness like a wild apricot in the summer. The lush flavors & textures are the overture, but the acidity is the rhythm. This maintains a brightness all the way through. Special stuff.

It doesn't matter if you know the Wenzlau family or not, this is a phenomenal, light, refreshing Chardonnay.

Like honest and passionate first love, this wine comes back with more power and gets deeper in my heart every time I have a chance to open a bottle. Wenzlau is now officially my favorite New World white producer, overtaking Peter Michael and his Point Rouge perfection. This Chardonnay is focused, sunny bright, lazer-sharp like a good Meursault, but dense and consistent like a Montrachet. I dream of bottomless stemware when Wenzlau is on the table — I don't want this experience to end. Can't wait to see what they got for 2013.
