Wendouree
A.P. Birks Clare Valley Malbec
I’ve been a long time buyer of Wendouree but have not had many of their 100% Malbec. They are only offered to club members occasionally. Often used to blend with Cabernet or Shiraz. Exhibiting plum flesh and plum skins and that often present menthol note (eucalyptus) which is detectable in many of the Wendouree Cuvées. Medium plus palate weight with medium plus intensity verging on profound intensity. Their Malbec vines date back to the 1920s. Will have the next one in a couple of years.

Apr 17th, 2016Well this Bad Boy is a bit of fun! Juicy, opulent fruit, earthy, layered with plenty of chewy tannin. Young, but, oh so much Yumminess!

Sep 19th, 2014Off-vintage but tasty. A bit of a mouldy nose, eucaliptus, pine, herbs, blackcurrants and blueberries. Really strong presence of a pencil shaves note. Not as heavy and concentrate as it is.
