Yowza. This is stunning. The secret power of this estate is the GG Riesling. What a nose. Impossibly complex minerality. Just staggering and delicate and so intense at the same time. Confectionary as well. Outrageous. Sweet greens as well. Smells so pure. Palate is just insane. So deep, so fresh, so elegant, so concentrated, so crystalline pure that you try so hard to find a flaw on that diamond but you can’t. This is a flawless diamond. Power without weight and just incredible density and structure. Just unbelievable. As this airs the nose gets to a 9.9. It’s so floral, so airy, so complex. Jaw dropping aromas. This is so delicate yet powerful. The marriage of density/minerality/sweet tart fruit on the mid and finish is all woven together like the finest silk.

Feb 26th, 2022Sick, dramatic nose, wintergreen, herbals you the wazoo, spice, flowers, pink grapefruit, almost a greenhouse effect on the nose, sickness. Some faint Riesling stoniness. Smells like a JR Tolkien scene. Insane inner mouth aromas. So dense, so chewy, so mineral, so dry. Lovely dry extract and purity. But also gentle and so so so mineral. I don’t think there is any fruit. And that’s a good thing. Long, meandering, finish with sick purity, and length. Chewy. So complex. Ethereal.

Nose: terrific. White and yellow flowers. Really elegant and balanced. A 9.65.
Palate : mineral. Sweet lemon. So good. Big acidity
This will be better in 5 years, I think. But great now.

A very ripe vintage here.
Nose: tropical fruits. Yellow flowers.
Palate: tropical. Mineral of course. Delicious. Not as razor like as other vintages.
Needs 2-3 years or a serious decant now. Day 3 much better. It’s gone from goofily tropical to seriously tropical. Great balance. You get that weltner razor like balance. Bravo. More lemon on the palate with elegant 33% pineapple.
