May 24th, 2022Yowza. This is stunning. The secret power of this estate is the GG Riesling. What a nose. Impossibly complex minerality. Just staggering and delicate and so intense at the same time. Confectionary as well. Outrageous. Sweet greens as well. Smells so pure. Palate is just insane. So deep, so fresh, so elegant, so concentrated, so crystalline pure that you try so hard to find a flaw on that diamond but you can’t. This is a flawless diamond. Power without weight and just incredible density and structure. Just unbelievable. As this airs the nose gets to a 9.9. It’s so floral, so airy, so complex. Jaw dropping aromas. This is so delicate yet powerful. The marriage of density/minerality/sweet tart fruit on the mid and finish is all woven together like the finest silk.

Feb 26th, 2022This is the most accessible young Weltner GG I’ve ever had. Stunning aromas, sugar snap peas, intense but delicate and just gorgeous. Stunning. Stunning. Juicy and so complex and pure. Amazing finish. So complex. Amazing.

Chilled a little over cellar temperature, notes forthcoming...
Nose has insane qualities, not sure I've ever experienced a Riesling like this, beeswax, grapefruit pith, fresh cut white grapefruit, freshly cut spring hay and faint wet limestone.
Palate is restrained, yet screaming acidity, pulverized SweeTARTS, honey poured over citrus pith, limestone dust and faint white flowers.
Holy crap this is good!

Those in the know order the Sylvaner which is the best on the planet. Those really in the know get the riesling as well. This is insane and also very different. Nose is just mineral and richness. Hard to describe. Palate is also concentrated. Fruity in a way that's hard to describe. So fruity the brain thinks its sweet even though it isn't. A hint of spice. Great acidity. Fresh as all get out. Man. I love this. I really do. I have a lot of great Riesling but this bottle is very different. Made my day. Bought from Fass selections.
