Urziger Würzgarten Spätlese Riesling
Good but not epic bottling from this typically excellent site.

Nov 30th, 2021Fantastic balance of mineral floral petrol and pears. Just a hint of sweetness. The fact you can get a bottle if wine like this for $25 is staggering. Old Riesling is the wine world's greatest value.

Jun 3rd, 2015A very crystalline golden color in the class, shockingly pale actually for a 20 year-old wine. The nose was slightly muted but showed off the classic notes of citrus, peach and mango with a hint of sweetness. The acidity on the palate began extremely soft but built in time in the glass. The spatlese sweetness was still in good force with flavors of juicy mango and nice citrus notes with just a kiss of stone. This is a delicious wine, especially for the price, but I would bet on it having too many years left.
