I love the Silvaner of Kai Schätzel. Wonderful nose of limestone, pithy vineyard peach and apricot, some cassis, so unique. Lavender. Stunning. Palate is rich and almost creamy but with mean acids on the finish. So pure. If a bit young. Terrific mouthfeel and serious power and concentration. I think this needs 3-4 years but it is all there.

Terrific nose. Very fresh. Aromas of sponti yeastiness, deep stony extract, and fresh citrus rind shavings. Lean, fresh, and minerally in the mouth. Great acids. Bone effing dry.

Lovely! Ripe and creamy. And the freshness and minerality of the vintage.
Great Silvaner.

Schatzel’s Silvaners are definately worth trying...
Smoky, salty minerals, juicy citrus fruit, bone dry and serious. Tasted his NierStein Silvaners from 2012, 2015 and 2016 at the domain recently, and they were all beautiful. We thought that a couple of years of bottle age showed really good on their tight, focussed, slightly reserved personality.
Found some 2014 and 2015 in the market. Me happy.

Huge aromatic nose, slight fresh mushrooms, softer texture, soft yet salty and nice acidic spine. Super integrated. Perfect apogee.

Juicy as all can be. Insane grape tannins here. Very salty. Mineral as fuck on the nose. Chewy and dense. Amazing persistence. So complex. One year makes difference.

100% Hipping. Mineral, funk, explosive and red slatey. So mineral. 100% stainless steel. Mouthfilling and rich, yet so light and zappy acids.
