Apples and stones. Stone fruit. Sweet and full. Almost enough acid to cut through. Tad simple.

A fun older bottle to try with dinner at a casual neighborhood Korean spot. Unfortunately lacking the acid that I was hoping for, led by a rush of very fruity and clean apple-limeade. Certainly a bit sweet, this was nice with the spicy fried dishes, but I do wish it had a bit more liveliness.

On the steepest parts of the Juffer vineyard where he soil is rich in Devonian slate. Tricky vintage was 2010. High intensity of aromas here, just ripe apricot, yellow peach and nectarine, tangerine, candies citron, fenugreek, floral and some slatey minerality. Medium dry with plenty of sweetness but backed by bracing acidity. Good length on show here too.

Pear, apple with a sweet spice nose and palate. The bright and fresh acidity reminds me of a slate and lime combo, with a viscous mouthfeel. A hint of petrol adds complexity. Good stuff!
