Yowza this is a stunner as usual. Nose is candied apple, confectionary up the wazoo, superb minerals and spice. Such classic Mosel slate minerality. High toned and so complex. Just in a perfect spot. The platonic ideal of aged Mosel Auslese. Honey. Palate is just tremendous. Savory, citrus and honey but all with confectionary undertones to it. Really elegant. Really compact and a haunting, effortlessly long finish.

Jan 16th, 2022In a wonderful place. Slatey, savory nose. Some bruised green apple skin, so much dusty earth. Floral, herbal. Just stunning and evocative nose. Palate is so elegant. Hyper elegant. Juicy and mineral with much lower sweetness than I was expecting. So so juicy and tangy. Long. Like wow long. Salty, savory. Like a Perfect dessert at Michelin 3 star in liquid form. Ludes is absurd.

Sep 12th, 2020Stunning nose. Caramel, honey, butterscotch, white chocolate, sultana, so complex. Just stunning. Peaches. Apricots. In their juices. Mushroom. So so complex. Brown sugar. Palate is luscious, racy and super clean. Nimble and elegant this is decidedly old school Auslese. Balance is superb. Nose gets Smokey with air. So precise. Unreal crystalline structure and dazzling purity. Very young, very fresh bottle of this. My best!

From a backwater in the mosel. A whole 6 miles from jj prum. One of the great vineyards in the mosel at half the price of prum. An insane wine. Needs an overnight open in the fridge to come alive.
Nose is perfect dried peaches. Some perfect. fresh peach. Some mosel age. Like a hint of petrol peach perfume. A touch of creaminess and confectionary sugar. Gorgeous. So elegant.
Palate is mineral. Dried peach extract. Perfect midsummer peach. Mineral spine. Elite deliciousness.
A week in you get that aged mosel toasty richness. Man. A unique experience.
