HUGE botrytis on the nose. Honeyed peaches. Saffron. Gotta be brief as I am running late but wow. So big yet so nimble and finishes dry tasting. Awesome acidity and so clean and so clear. Profound!

Nose is saffron city and clean botrytis. Just gorgeous. Superb clean slate and minerals. Guava as well. The exoticism of Goldtropfchen is on full display. Wow. Herbal and some fresh honey as well. This is so pretty. Some dried honey as well. Wow that palate is something else. Super focused and precise with unreal purity. Super creamy and fresh. Glides across the palate. Stunning length to it. Brilliant inner mouth aromas and energy. Minerals and exotic fruit all over the place. Coats the mouth but it’s framed and focused and so juicy. Wonderful finesse and elegance and a brilliant finish. Unreal density and material here. The finish is minutes long not seconds. Profound!

After some hours nose is a bit quiet. But that palate. So juicy and so fresh with awesome compactness and purity. Explosive and structured. Super deep but holding back unlike the BJS Ausless 18 after 3 hours. This needs 2-3 years. But wowza it’s stunning. Still sticking with my 9.7. The elegance in this is top notch. Amazing weightlessness.

@Lyle Fass 6 Weeks? I maybe made it 6 minutes. Mosel Fine Wines said this was picked at 110 Oeschle with 40-50% botrytized grapes. I was prepared for a lush dessert ,and had a blue cheese plate ready to pair with it. Wasn’t necessary. The wine is barely off-dry. Generous, though not at all opulent. The botrytis is barely noticeable on the palate, just adding a slight raisin character to complement its honeyed pineapple and saffron notes. It has an improbable lightness and high, refreshing acidity, which makes the mouth water but doesn’t stand out. While I suspect it will gain weight with bottle age, this is a lean, chiseled athlete with not an ounce of excess fat. The finish lasts forever and brings lovely spice and light mineral character. The balance in this wine is impeccable; reaching a Jungian ideal. I have never had an Auslese like this. Bravo!

Daaaaaaaamn this is good.

Nose is elegant peach. Almost a peach flower. Gorgeous.

Palate is apricot and peach. Good acidic balance but not overtly acidic. Hints of crunchy mineral in the background. Sprightly. Delicious. Elegant.

Almost the ethereal quality of a kabinett.
