On the Lawn at Tanglewood this evening with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Our guest conductor David Newman is leading a live-to-picture performance of Leonard Bernstein’s score for “West Side Story”, originally directed by Robert Wise and Jerome Robbins, and with lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.
For live-to-picture productions, the orchestra performs the entire movie score in real time as the film unspools. (Vocals, dialogue and effects are isolated from the original music track.) The BSO installed very fancy and large LED screens on the perimeter of the Shed facing the Lawn, amazing!
Dry for a spätlese, no formal notes, we enjoyed this on my tailgate as we waited for the crazy traffic tonight to get out of the lot. We witnessed no less than (2) accidents with drivers unable to manage a standard transmission on a wet hill (oh yeah we got rained on during the show tonight).

Simply exceptional. So much going on in this bottle. Sweet notes perfectly combining with umami flavors. Like having dirty, sweaty sex in a candy shop.

Much drier than one might expect. Peaches and apricots with sneaky grape tannins that result in a dry finish. Yum!

Fantastic wine. Rich stone fruit with lively acidity. Smooth texture very well balanced wine.
