This needed 2 hours of to open. Initially it was kind of brawny and weird. Now after 4 hours it’s hitting its stride. So much going on the nose. Red cherry, strawberry preserves, fresh herbs, interestingly curry. Palate is bonkers. Coats the entire palate immediately. I get strawberries, grapes!, flowers, green herbs, more curry, some vanilla, baking spice at the end with cherries. What I love about this is it tastes like a full meal. Bright fruits and acidity (sea water?) at the start, herbs, spice, darker fruits, umami in the middle, and then cherries jubilee, spice, and vanilla at the end. One of the most interesting Pinots I’ve ever had. I feel if I tasted it blind I would immediately guess Germany Pinot or red, but who knows. Would love to get more.
