Decanted for 1 hour, got better after 3. This cab is the novel, not the movie. While not showy, it is deep and ultimately a thinker. Pretty blue and black fruits blossom into floral and savory mids and the finish is very long, showing mint, coconut and beautiful rockiness that is pure DMD. Really fun to drink.

What an intriguing wine. Thick, rich, extracted with stewed blackberry fruit and toasty oak. The nose offers up cocoa nibs, oak, rocks, purple fruit and a dark floral aroma. The palate is so smooth even at this young age. The tannins are pleasant and sweet, with a touch of smoke and ash. I'm astounded at how smooth this is in the mouth, but can't help but wish for a bit more mountain fruit florals.

It's great California Cabernet, although for the price I expected slightly more.

Very smooth with gobs of ripe fruit melding well with the silky tannins. There's a lot of vanilla bean and black cherry action going on. Not terribly complex at this point, but pure pleasure to drink.

Surprise of the night. But maybe not since it's TRB at helm.
