#wbc15 lt amber red. Nose kinda shut down - red apple. High acid, austere red fruits. Plummy finish. Solid. $29. 700 cases.

My first love when it comes to Finger Lakes Reds. Not a great vintage for Reds, but the shorter growing season for pinot snuck this one in under the radar. Lots of cherries and a hint of maybe olives? It has some lively acidity that makes it dance on your tongue. It's got the red strength without being overpowering. Beautiful with seafood.

The age ability of NYS reds from awesome vintages is on display. 2010 Reserve Pinot Noir has come from one of the best years for Reds in the FLX. Earth and aged tobacco on the nose. Delicious, black cherry and plum that finishes with an astoundingly big finish full of buzzing tannin. It makes me wonder how much longer I could have kept it under lock and key in my storage to see how long it could've made it. Small estate grown, limited production from a great winery.
