My 4th spin with this vintage and it's holding steady, if a little more reserved than it was in youth. The 16s were super open and drinkable young but have added more of what you'd expect in it's youth, more structure, more density, just more serious. Decant if having right away. If you can plan it, splash decant briefly and rebottle it with the cork open for 24 hours.

Feb 11th, 2024Deep Ruby with pronounced aromas of berry fruits, spice and floral notes, a blend of 37% Touriga Nacional, 42% Touriga Franca and various others. On the palate intense flavors of plum, licorice and blackberry flavors, well balanced with lively acidity, full-bodied, big and well structured. Long finish, smooth tannins ending with cacao and rich sweet fruit tones. Very nice! Keep this in the cellar for another decade!

On the palate flavors of blackberry, ripe plum and currants with notes of cacao, espresso and citrus zest. Well balanced, fine tannins, still tight, long finish ending with ripe juicy fruit, spice and earthy character, a big port, Very Nice! Can drink now but will develop over next decade!

Sep 17th, 2021Deeply staining dark purple. High viscosity. Sour cherries, eucalyptus, and mint. Creme de cassis and beautiful minerality on the palate, with a peppery kick on the finish. Elevated acidity and soft integrated tannins.
