Drank sweeter and more tawny in style and color than anticipated. Still a treat.

Complex nose with aromas of dark fruit, incense, herbal and medicinal notes. Full-bodied, opulent, balanced, not overly sweet. Impressive

Great with a fine French blue cheese

Smooth, carmel, delicious. Closest to Grant Burge I can find

Dodgy cork which crumbled. Smooth cassis flavour which is quaffable enough but nothing particularly refined; nose promised more than the taste. Left me a little disappointed. Drinking the 2001 in 2016.

Opaque core. Amazingly fresh, youthful nose. Quite intense and amazing concentration - it's like smelling the grape must! The palate is hot but equally youthful and concentrated. Considering this was purchased at a post Xmas sell off for ~£20? /bottle. I think this is an amazing buy!
