Disgorged 17-10-17 / R14 (so 2014 vintage I believe). White flowers, green apple skin, underripe lemons, high acid, yeasty, very very dry.

🏅 Rating 92/100 (4,2⭐)

Lovely yellow gold colour. Slightly iodine, bruised apples. Oxidative in style. Like it's breadth and vinousity. 100% Chardonnay from 2ha vineyard of Biaunes with younger vines kept at extremely low yields. This biodynamically farmed vineyard was planted in 2000 on Kimmeridgian Chablis-like soils.

I don't sense any evidence of malo. Acidity is prominent. Brut Nature and western exposure amplifies cool vintage of 2014. Nevertheless, southern character of Aube is evident through rich fruit with good level of ripeness.

Disgorged in March 2017 it shouldn't stay too long in your cellar. Bertrand Gautherot suggests to drink his wines 2 years after the disgorgement date as he never adds sulphur during the bottling. Well, I am sure this R14 will last for a few additional years.

Apple, lemon, granite, brioche, very dry and lean, better with food and after a couple hours open. 2014 base, disgorged 20-10-16
