Drank this before duck at Hauke's in Germany. Grapefruit flavour, a bit of apple. Acidic, dry, a little stemmy, not super minerally (for a Rheingau Riesling), still working a little, not a lot of complexity I found. Schloss Vollrads winemaker didn't have enough grapes one year so made this. Tasty but a bit ersatz.

Nice pairing for Thai Coconut Curry soup. Green apple, lemon, lime, big acidity. Not very complex to be sure but a good food wine.

Feb 1st, 2020Sitting really nicely for a couple of years in. Searing acid upfront. Green apple, white peach on the nose. Lemon pith, nectarine and apricot flavours. V. good.
