Drank this before duck at Hauke's in Germany. Grapefruit flavour, a bit of apple. Acidic, dry, a little stemmy, not super minerally (for a Rheingau Riesling), still working a little, not a lot of complexity I found. Schloss Vollrads winemaker didn't have enough grapes one year so made this. Tasty but a bit ersatz. — 8 years ago

Hauke's for duck in Germany. Dry, buttery, fruity, almost a Sauv Blanc flavour, blended and smooth, rounder flavours, older vintage, less mineral. Most interesting and different while still being good. — 8 years ago
