Encanto Charm Selección Bierzo Mencía

Dark color, concentrated black cherry fruit, dry, structured, a little wet dog on nose at first that blows off and showing some nice integrated oak (mostly American). Surprisingly good. Will buy more for $4 at groce out.

Love the label! From the Mencia grape from Northwestern Spain. Big tannins, but lots of dark fruit flavors. Strong blueberry, blackberry notes. Bramble. Really, quite charming. Pun intended!

Smoky paprika on the nose. Big and tannic on the tongue. Sharp end. Great value.

Lovely easy drinking mencia. Loads of fruits of the forrest punch but lighter and easier-going than most young ribera wines etc

Very good with roast quail
