Not often I have experience with a relatively young wine that started with a bang and than totally fell apart within two hours. Upon opening, beautiful vibrant, focused clean fresh red fruit supported by subtle tannins. Over the next hour the wine became less balanced, the acidic notes took over to the point we could not drink it anymore. We are going to Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico, next week. Have you experienced Mexican wines from this region? Can you recommend wineries with high quality wines to visit? Look forward hearing from you. 🙏

Wow, this was really special, unexpected and unique. A Nebbiolo and Cab sav blend from Mexico that started off very delicate, with a refined acidity, and evolved into something smooth, silky and velvety. Bold notes of plums burst forth followed by notes of vanilla, leather and smooth tannins, with a bold nose of velvet, dates, VERY light roses and cigar smoke. The body was medium, but man did this evolve into something unique.

Red fruits mainly cranberry and cherry with a herbal note like menthol and a hint of spices on the nose, fruity with a mineral finish on the palate.

Odd Mexican red blend, but not unusual for this region; all blends go. This is Nebbiolo Zinfandel to be exact. Red fruit and soil on the nose and pallet and crazy as it may sound I tasted tamarind toward the latter part of the pallet. First time experiencing that taste on a wine: spicy, sweet, sourish all together. Interesting but not my coup of tea.
