Mr. Spittoon was on cooking duty recently so he made a loaded spag bol 🍝. It was super tasty and went down well with this Italian Menhir Salento Quota 29 2013 Primitivo IGP sample I was sent from the Vino Bambino team.
According to Wine Spectator, Primitivo and Zinfandel are actually both clones of a Croatian grape called Crljenak.
In the glass it’s a virtually opaque maroon red. Black cherries and dark fruits entice the nostrils. There’s also a slight whiff of mint. While in the mouth it’s both fruity and savoury with hints of black olive and earthiness. One very sultry vino!
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #winesample #tcweekdaywine
