I’ve had a few “fruit bombs” recently and this offering from Vineyard 29 isn’t one of them, thankfully. It was a nice change of pace having a nuanced, complex, and layered experience. The nuance started with the bouquet - very little fruit. Instead, mushrooms, dusty rose, and light cocoa wafted out combined with a little plum. The finish was long and almost “chewable.” Nice acidity and layers of tannin. I will get another bottle to age. I’m expecting it will be excellent.
