Lithe on the nose and palate, dominated by espresso. Laser-focused black cherries and tight tannins, give way to minerality and floral notes. Decadent, with an old-world style. Primo.

Sep 12th, 2019With Eric and Teresa from the WNH. Stunning presentation. Lovely nose of cloves, jam compote and cherries. Palate is sublime. All spice, nutmeg, sandalwood and black fruits. Neutral oak and a finish with slightly underripe tannins, which presents in perfect harmony with the acid - outstanding.

Yes please, I’ll take some more, the texture on this wine always catches me by surprise, so velvety, so complex and then it hits you like Mike Tyson.

5th wine of the night., How lucky are we., Carlos Lopez de la Calle is friends with Anthony and showcased his wine e as well during our Edge Hill tasting. Incredible Tempranillo., very aromatic., spicy with great structure and silkiness. We popped & poured., the bottle would have been better if decanted for 4+ hours. Very young and still wound tight. However. Promises to be an incredible vintage! We did notice sone bottle variations.

2001 Viñedos Lacalle y Laorden Rioja showing youthful cherry and irony mineral driven flavors with tart acidity and medium tannins. Needs more time in bottle. I would recommend resting it for another 8 years. Decant for 3 hours if your drinking it now.
