This wine cost $4.99 at Trader Joes... For the price it can't be beat. Very bold flavor and a favorite of mine.

Trying this again. Dark as night. Aroma of berry-cherry cola and freshly stained wood siding. Flavors are some fruit (slightly syrupy) with plenty of char and tobacco in there. Very much a Carménère flavor profile if a bit lacking in nuance or depth. It’s a bit fat and ripe. But shoot for the price at Trader Joe’s this is a wine to repeatedly buy.

Cheapie at Trader Joe’s. This is a pretty well structured version on the Carménère wine Chile made famous. Plenty of tobacco leaf. Hint of black licorice. Robust dark as night red wine. Not amazingly dynamic, but gratifying stuff.

Cheapie from Trader Joe’s. Think I’ve had this before. Lion with a soccer ball in its paw on label. Smells a bit like licorice and smoked stuff. Flavors are rich and full. Hint of that tobacco leaf Carmenere is known for. Plenty of bittersweet complexity on the tongue. Enjoyable Bordeaux style red.

NOSE: Bright, spicy, acidic.
TASTE: Veggies, spices, red fruit. Metallic mineral taste - like a tin can. But a good deal for $5 - will try again. 82.

Another lion on the bottle like that French rosé last night. Must be a thing wines and lions. Dark as night in the glass. Smells like black currant preserves. And menthol. Flavors are dense and a blend of black currants, tobacco and black cherry. It’s well balanced if a bit simple. This is a very passable Carménére. I could drink this anytime and be feliz.
