This is not a big wine, maybe a little thin in the palate, but it has a good nose with great red floral aromatics and fresh fruit, red cherry, spicy raspberry, juicy plum, creamy vanilla, mixed herbs, candied flowers, incense, woodsmoke, leather and some crunchy, charred earth. Delicious infanticide. Everything about this wine was great. Wonderful balance. Could go so much longer, but oh so delicious with a little time in the decanter. Kicking off the holiday season!

Opened up after a few hour decant, but still needed a marbled steak for balance. Deep dark blackberry pie, tobacco, evergreen needles, and uplifted cranberry. Well balanced with great purity of fruit and persistent length. American oak flavors surround both red and black forest berries. Still very youthful... definitely decant or cellar.

Posting from dinner a few weeks ago. This was terrific. Not overly tannic or fruit forward; the balance was just right. No decant, just evolution in the glass. This is an elegant Rioja.
