Vincent Girardin
Le Cailleret Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay
One of my go to producers for high quality and still a relative value in terms of Burgundy pricing.
2010 a very good vintage in Burgundy and this was no exception. It’s a good time to open a bottle. The wine was thick, waxy and well textured. Showing notes of honey, honeysuckle, green apple, meyer lemon, pineapple, beautiful unstated minerality, yellow lilies and some spring flowers.
Nice pair with the white cheeses that started our evening.
Photos of, the Domaine, Estate vines and Winemaker Eric Germain.
