Fully opaque ruby core fading to amber rim. Intense aromas and flavors of black truffles accompanied by plum, black cherry, tobacco, and potpourri. High acidity, soft tannins, and incredible length. Made from 100% Tempranillo sourced from vines over 100 years old. Fermented in small French oak casks then aged 14 months in new French oak barriques. 14.5% ABV.

Tonight I promised no Pinot and I have decided to open a Spanish Tempranillo. I can totally get behind a Tempranillo when it is done right and this one has all the earmarks of a top notch wine. At first whiff I get beautifully rich smoky aromas of cherry, cassis, cola, licorice and rain soaked soil. On the palate are deep silky fruit, blackberry, blueberry, black currant, cherry juice, dusty tannins with a good long finish. A very nice example if a 100% Tempranillo.

Bold and beutiful, do not try to taste another wine after this, Will be the perfect end to a good dinner with concersation notes that Will be difficult to find better, buy buy buy and drink with joy

I have always been a fan of the wines from this domain. Now at age 15/16 this wine stands firm! Everything comes together with a nose of red fruit, licorice, leathersoap. The mouthfeeling is silky, cherries you know these big black ones, subtle acidity making you want to drink more but no need as the finish takes you over the minute. Fantastic wine!

With tomorrow eve 5.12 in mind (gourmetten) already opened this bottle. Really fancy this powerhouse though I never bought it again after this vintage. Have to find a new release. At 13 year only structure gives away any aging. Nose full of chocolate and dark cherries. In the mouth sweets of vanilla, fudge and darkberries. Yummie wine!
