Deep ruby; medium plus intensity aromas of ripe blackberry, ripe boysenberry, sweet blueberry, very perfumed potpourri, toast, cedar, cinnamon, cloves; dry, medium acid, medium tannins, medium alcohol, medium plus body, medium plus intensity flavors consistent with aromas; long finish, well balanced and concentrated, impression of sweet florals, very good

VIK La Piu Belle is the lady of their three wines. La Piu Belle retails for $75 and is their mid-line offering. It has a beautiful nose of violet, cassis, nutmeg, allspice and vanilla. There’s a light touch oak, but it’s definitely there. The palate shows great dark berries, sweet cranberry and blueberry with firm tannins and a great finish tinted by cranberry. To help match up with the descriptor, there is a woman on the label.

A long way from the winery. Huge and tannic. Perfect for a meal off the grill. Drinking well.

N: Manure, loam, spicy dark fruits ( the wife says no manure) definitely earthy and dirty, crushed blackberries, smells like a few cahors I’ve had.deep and dank.
P: Raisiny but not cloying, tart yet controlled, tannins quite resolved.
Very round on the palate. Delicious.
14° Easy to quaff.
This is no monster, consensus is it would work w poultry, some fish. We had beef stew.
For what it’s worth @Decanter gave this a 98.

👻🎃🧙‍♀️🕷 Happy Halloween 🕷🧙‍♀️🎃👻

Having loved the 2011 VIK (reviewed here https://instagram.com/p/Be7X7M-niJw/) I was keen to try this £50 bottle made of grapes that didn’t make it to the VIK main wine ... oh & yes the bottle art was quite appealing to so I thought a good one to pop on Halloween 😁 La Piu Belle the goddess of Millahue 🇨🇱

📍 Vik La Piu Belle 2011 😈

🏵 A spooktacular 👻 93 points

🍇 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Carmenère, 8% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot, 1% Syrah & no vampire blood 🧛‍♂️

🍷 Opaque blackened bloody spooky ruby

👃 Smoked oaky fog across a graveyard of murdered blackcurrant & blackberry w/ cracked mineral gravestone, herby evil weeds, erry cocoa dust & a raisin port twang for the ferryman

👄 Med body of creamy blackcurrant vampire blood w/ cocoa, red tortured cherry, squished raspberry, raisin the dead & mineral tomb stone 💀

🎯 Long nightmare of lingering blackcurrant in deadly chocolate w/ a dry 6ft underground mineral stabbing

👍 Thanks @slurpleamington for supplying this lovely bottle 👻 Boo!
