The wine is inky purple and has a beautiful nose full of blackberries and oak spice - vanilla, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg - and even a whiff of smoke. The palate shows the big, black fruit along with the spice rack and a tannic structure that is plenty firm enough for a steak but not too toothy for sipping.

Oct 7th, 2022Deep ruby, visually looks hot but alcohol is not evident on palate: well balanced. Smells of dark fruit and tea leaves. Deep sweet almost Syrah-like fruit. Elegant, very fine tannins, fruit is refined with a slight candied aspect. Nice.

typical Paso - too hot, overextracted and clumsy, BUT Petite Sirah has such a gorgeous aromatic & palate profile that this was still enjoyable. all the tell tale notes of deep dark fruit compote, coffee, cocoa, cassis, pepper, exotic spices - just a big audacious nose w/generous fleshy (flabby) palate, moderate tannins and modest finish

Terrific for its price. I love the fruitiness and the freshness. Tannins are heavy and gentle at the same time, surprisingly.
