This was a very good Rioja. As other reviewers have noted it required a lot of breathing to come into its own. It has very strong tannins and a good finish. But the fruit flavors didn’t start to appear until at least 30 minutes after opening. A great value at Grocery Outlet.

Elegance to the label. Sorta. Good, deep, red color with a rusty edge. Smells of cooked berries and plums. Little hint of soap on the finish. Flavors are on point. Tart, silky, chewy. Cherry juice and licorice. That cedar stuff from the American oak comes through. Tasty stuff. Great deal at grocery outlet for $10.
